with Craniosacral Therapy

Although Marissa specialises in supporting babies, children and teenagers, adults are also warmly welcomed. You may be looking for a quiet space to pause when life feels demanding, or for complementary wellbeing support alongside appropriate care for stress, persistent discomfort, fatigue, hormonal changes or a long-term health condition.

Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle, light-touch complementary therapy. Appointments take place fully clothed and are adapted around your comfort, circumstances and preferences. The focus is on providing an unhurried, supportive environment where you have time to rest and relax.

Craniosacral Therapy does not diagnose or treat anxiety, pain, fatigue, hormonal conditions, autoimmune disease, cancer or any other medical condition. New, persistent or worsening symptoms should be discussed with a GP or another appropriate healthcare professional. If you are receiving medical treatment, please seek advice where appropriate and tell Marissa about any relevant conditions, medication or clinical guidance before your appointment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Adult Wellbeing

What can I expect from an adult wellbeing appointment?

An appointment provides a quiet, unhurried space in which you can rest and relax. Craniosacral Therapy uses a gentle, light-touch approach, with every appointment adapted around your comfort, preferences and circumstances. No particular outcome can be guaranteed.

Can I book if I have never experienced Craniosacral Therapy before?

Yes. Many clients are new to Craniosacral Therapy. Marissa will explain the approach, answer your questions and discuss what you are comfortable with before any hands-on work begins. There is no pressure to continue if the appointment does not feel right for you.

Can Craniosacral Therapy treat stress, anxiety or chronic pain?

Craniosacral Therapy does not diagnose or treat anxiety, chronic pain or any other medical condition. Some adults choose appointments as complementary wellbeing support and value having time to rest in a calm environment. Persistent, severe or worsening symptoms should be discussed with an appropriate healthcare professional.

Can I attend if I have a medical condition or am receiving treatment?

Possibly, but suitability depends on your individual circumstances. Tell Marissa about relevant health conditions, medication, recent procedures and treatment before the appointment. You should also seek advice from your GP, consultant or medical team where appropriate. Craniosacral Therapy must not replace recommended medical care.

What happens during my first appointment?

Your first appointment begins with a relaxed conversation about your general wellbeing, relevant medical history and what has brought you to the practice. Marissa will explain the approach and answer your questions. If appropriate, gentle hands-on work can follow, guided by your comfort and consent.

Is Craniosacral Therapy suitable for everyone?

Craniosacral Therapy uses light touch, but that does not mean every appointment is automatically suitable for everyone. Please disclose relevant medical conditions, medication, injuries, recent procedures and ongoing treatment before attending. Marissa may recommend that you obtain advice from an appropriate healthcare professional before booking.

Does Craniosacral Therapy involve manipulation, and will I remain clothed?

You remain fully clothed during the appointment. Craniosacral Therapy does not use forceful manipulation. Marissa uses gentle hand contact, and you can ask to change, pause or stop the session at any time.

How many appointments might I need, and how do I book?

There is no set number of appointments because every person and situation is different. Marissa can discuss the available options after meeting you, without requiring you to commit to a course. You can book online or contact Marissa first if you would like to discuss whether an appointment may be appropriate.
